How to Choose a Concealer Color
Concealer is an important part of your beauty regimen if you have blemishes and flaws to cover. Foundation provides a light cover but it simply smooths your skin’s appearance, evening out the color of your face. Concealer can hide acne, scars, redness, discoloration and dark circles under your eyes—the things that foundation cannot cover. Take your foundation or powder make-up with you to the store when you choose a color for your basic blemish concealer. Find the concealers that best match your foundation or powder. If you are debating between a couple of shades, choose the one that is a shade lighter than your foundation or the same, not one that is darker.

If you have dark circles under your eyes, choose a yellow concealer, which is made especially for under-eye discoloration and will provide the most coverage.

For hiding redness, choose a green concealer. While it may look unattractive, it will even your skin color if you have rosacea or other skin imperfections that cause red spots. Once you have added your foundation over the concealer, you will not be able to see the green. You can add a bit of your skin tone concealer over it before applying foundation.
