How to Change a Password Question
Security questions are put into place by websites that store sensitive personal information as a heightened security feature. These questions typically refer to your private life and therefore only you know the answers. However, with so many things to remember these days, it's easy to forget a security question and you may need to bypass it or set up a new one.

1
Log into the website in question and look for a "My Account," "Settings" or "Options" button. The form for resetting your security question typically falls into one of these or a similar category.

Follow the directions to find the reset form. Every website is a little different, but most will clearly direct you to the proper page.

Choose a new question and try to make it one that you will remember. Many people use their mother's maiden name, as this generally is not common knowledge. However, sometimes such information is in the public domain, so use your best judgment. Other popular choices include the name of your first pet, the name of your high school or the year you graduated.

Tips & Warnings
Record your password and security question off line. Some find it helpful to have a small notebook in which to record sensitive information that can then be stored in a locked box or other safe place. You can also place the information in a protected folder in your computer; however, if you lose your computer or hard drive, that information will be gone as well.
If the website requires you to answer the security question in order to log in, the best thing to do is send an email using the website's "Contact Us" button or link. Any reputable site will be happy to help you with this problem.
Be wary of those to whom you give sensitive information in order to minimize your risk of identity theft.
