Instructions

    • 1

Apply face primer to the face and neck prior to applying makeup foundation. This will help keep the foundation from fading and bring out the makeup colors.

    • 2

Apply white or pale-colored foundation to the face, ears, neck and arms. Blend with a cosmetic sponge to eliminate streaks. You can also apply the foundation to hands to create an overall pale appearance, unless you plan to wear gloves.

    • 3

Set the foundation with a dusting of loose powder. Translucent is colorless and will blend perfectly with the white or pale foundation without compromising the foundation's color.

    • 4

Apply gray eyeshadow to eyelids from the lash line to just above the crease. With a liner brush, apply gray shadow to the entire bottom lash line, as well.

    • 5

Apply black eyeshadow, creating a smoky-eyed look from the lash line to just below the crease and outward. Also dust black shadow along bottom lash line from the outer corner to the middle of the eye.

    • 6

Use a cotton swab or makeup brush to blend the gray and black shadows. The application does not have to be precise or perfect, as you are creating the look of a dead prom queen. Add mascara, if you choose.

    • 7

Line the lash lines (top and bottom) with black eyeliner and smudge with a cotton swab. Use the white or silver eyeliner for the waterline, which is the area closest to the eye above the bottom lash line.

    • 8

Apply gray eyeshadow to lips instead of using lipstick. Use a cosmetic sponge to apply. With a light tapping motion, dust small amounts of black eyeshadow with the gray for a slightly darker lip color.

    • 9

Dust a mix of gray and black eyeshadow on the cheeks for blush and to add definition--creating an emaciated look.

    • 10

Add fake blood to the corners of the mouth--depending on your preference or theme.

    • 11

Complete the dead prom queen look by adding a tiara, ripped tights and an old prom dress. Create a weathered look by ripping and tearing parts of the dress.

Tips & Warnings

  • Look for the prom gown, jewelry and accessories at antique or thrift stores, which is more affordable.
