How Do I Find the Speed of My Processor?
The processor speed on your computer tells you how quickly your computer can process information. When you buy a computer, the speed of the processor that the computer has is typically listed on the specifications list on the box. If you didn't keep the box, you can check the speed out on your own.

Windows 7 or Vista

Click on the "Start" button.

Type "msinfo32" in the search box, but do so without the quotes. Press enter and the system information will come up on your screen.

Find the line under the Item column that says "Processor" and look beside it to see the speed.
Windows XP

Click on the "Start" button.

Select "My Computer" from the Start menu.

Go to "View System Information" and look for the processor speed under "Computer."
Windows 2000

Click on the "Start" button.

Select "Programs" and then "Accessories" and then "System Tools."
