Disposable Toilet Seat Cover Instructions

Disposable Toilet Seat Cover Instructions thumbnail
Public restrooms often have complimentary disposable toilet seat covers available.

Using a public toilet can be unpleasant. You have no way of knowing when the last time the toilet seat was disinfected. One way you can avoid direct contact is to use a disposable toilet seat cover. These protect your skin from exposure to any waste or other contaminants that may be present.

Instructions

    • 1

Gently grasp the top of the toilet seat cover from the wall holder or travel pack and pull it. Shake the cover lightly to unfold it.

    • 2

Place the cover evenly on the seat of the toilet with the attachment for the cutout facing toward the front of the bowl. The cutout should drape down into the inside front of the bowl; this is to protect male users. This piece also enables hands-free disposal of the cover.

    • 3

Sit gently down on the toilet seat, being cautious not to knock the cover off or cause it to slip out of position.

    • 4

Rise from the toilet and flush the commode. The cutout piece that is in the bowl will pull the rest of the cover into it due to the flushing action.

Tips & Warnings

  • Many stores sell travel packs of toilet seat covers that you can carry with you for use when a restroom doesn't have any available. Some are decorated.

  • Disposable toilet seat covers are made of tissue paper. Liquids can soak through them. Check the seat for liquid contamination before placing the cover. Wipe the seat with toilet paper so that the cover won't become wet.
