Acer notebook computers come with a recovery application that allows you to restore your computer to a previous state. When you run the recovery application, you can use an Acer eRecovery CD or DVD as your restore point, or you can use the eRecovery Disk partition on your laptop's hard drive. Using a recovery disk on your Acer Notebook will erase all the data on your computer's hard drive and install a clean copy of the operating system and notebook drivers.

Instructions

      Press "Alt + F10" on your notebook's keyboard to open the Acer eRecovery Management application. If you have an Acer eRecovery CD or DVD, insert it into your computer's optical drive.

      Click on the "Restore" button to open the "Restoration" window.

      Select an image from the list of available restoration points. You can choose "Factory Default" to restore your computer to its default settings, or you can select the image on the recovery CD or DVD in your computer's optical drive.

      Click "OK" to begin the recovery process. The Acer eRecovery Application will restore your system to the selected recovery point. When your computer restarts, follow the directions provided by Windows Setup to complete the restoration process.

Tips & Warnings

  • Restoring your computer with a recovery disk will erase all of the data on your hard drive. Make sure to back up any data you want to keep before you begin the recovery process.
