How to Make a Laptop Screen Into a Touch Screen

Touch screen devices, such as phones and tablet PCs, are relatively expensive when compared with non-touch screen systems such as desktop PCs and laptops. If you'd like to turn your laptop screen into a touch screen without having to spend the extra money for a legitimate touch screen, there are several devices that allow you to do so. By installing these products onto your laptop, you can use the screen as if it were the screen on a tablet PC.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase the DUO device (see "References"). The DUO plugs into an available USB port on your laptop and attaches to the top of your laptop screen. Use the DUO's pen to write on your laptop screen just like a touch screen tablet.

Buy the Navisis Tablet Mouse (see "References"). The Tablet Mouse works much like the DUO--it plugs into a free USB slot and connects to your laptop screen, though the Tablet Mouse's sensor connects to the side of the screen instead of the top. You can use the included pen to manipulate your mouse pointer.

Select a touch screen add-on from TouchScreens.com (see "References"). These devices are placed over the top of your laptop screen and connect to your system via USB. Because the touch screen capabilities come from a touch sensor, you can use one of these devices with your finger for a true touch screen experience.
