To send money from Singapore to the Philippines, you have two options. You can transfer money electronically through your bank account to the recipient's account in the Philippines or send cash to the recipient through an agent company. A number of companies transfer money online these days. If you prefer sending money directly from your bank account to the recipient's account, you can do so using PayPal, Alert Pay or Money Bookers. If you prefer using an agent, you have the options of Xoom, Western Union and Money Gram.

      Visit the websites of PayPal, Alert Pay and Money Bookers and compare their fees by using the fee calculator/cost estimator tool. Select Philippines as the recipient's country and enter the amount you want to send.

      Select the company that is offering the lowest fee or any extra service you require. On its website, click the link that says "Sign Up"/"Register."

      Provide personal information including name, email address, contact details and credit card or bank account information.

      Click the link that says "Send Money" when you're done with the registration process.

      Enter the recipient's email address, specify the amount you want to send and confirm that you want to send money to the recipient.The money transferring company will then send the recipient an email that will guide him on how to deposit the money to his bank account in the Philippines.

    Through Agent

      Visit the websites of Western Union, Xoom and Money Gram and compare their fees by using the fee calculator/cost estimator tool (links in Resources below). Select Philippines as the recipient's country and enter the amount you want to send. This fee calculating tool will help you figure out how much money you should take when going to the agent.

      Locate the company's agent in your area. All three companies have agent locations spread across Singapore. You can find the agent office by going to the "Find Us"/"Agent Locations" link on each company's website. On that page, you will have to enter your address to determine the closest agent location.

      Visit the company's agent. You will have to take along an ID card/passport along with the funds to be transferred and a money transfer fee.

      Tell the agent that you want to send money to the Philippines. The agent will give you a form, which will ask for contact details of sender and receiver. It will also ask for the amount you wish to transfer. You also have the option to add a small message to the recipient.

      Give the form along with the money to the agent. The agent will then give you the receipt and a "Reference number," also known as a "Money Transfer Control Number." Call the recipient in the Philippines and give him the the reference number. Tell him to locate the agent office in his local area. He will have to visit an agent's office for receiving the funds.
