How to Make a Plastic Bag Holder Doll
Plastic bags from the grocery store can take up a lot of room in a kitchen, pantry or bathroom. A cute way to keep them under control is by keeping them in a bag holder that looks like a doll. Easy to make, you won't mind displaying this because it looks like anything but a plastic bag holder. You can use either a fabric doll that you purchase at a craft store, or even a child's 12-inch plastic doll.
Things You'll Need
- Doll with dress
- Fabric, approximately 20 inches by 10 inches
- Elastic, roughly 12 inches long
- Safety pin
- Craft glue or hot glue
- Yarn or plastic ring
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
Instructions
-
-
1
Cut a strip of fabric with a length roughly 20 inches long.
-
2
Sew the fabric to the hem of the doll's dress. The new "dress" should measure about 27 inches from the shoulder to the bottom.
-
-
3
Sew a 1-inch seam binding about 3 inches from the bottom of the fabric. You can put it on the inside of the fabric or the outside, depending on how you like the look.
-
4
Using a safety pin to help pull it through, thread the 12 inches of elastic through the seam binding. Sew the rough edges down.
-
5
Attach the ring or yarn to the back of the doll's head with craft glue or a hot glue gun so that it can hang on the wall. Just place a small dot on the back of the head and press the ring or yarn into the glue. You may need to hold it there for a few seconds.

6
Insert plastic bags through the bottom of the doll hanger.
