How to Format Windows on a Dell Inspiron 9300

The Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop comes with Windows XP pre-installed. For repair, replacement or upgrade reasons you may want to format the Windows operating system on the laptop. You can do this without the need for any extra software if you just have the Windows XP CD that came with the computer.

• Windows XP CD

Instructions

1. Boot from the Windows XP CD by putting it in the computer, rebooting the computer and pressing any key when prompted to do so by the message on the screen.

2. Hit the "Enter" key to proceed to the license agreement screen and then press "F8" to agree to the license.

3. Highlight your Windows XP installation using your arrow keys and press the "D" key, the "L" key and then the "L" key. Windows is now formatted and you can exit the setup window by pressing "F3" twice.
