1
Measure the width of the bed that will go with the castle piece. This will determine the size of the plywood you buy.
-
2
Choose a piece of plywood the width of the bed you will be working with. The board can be any height you like. About five feet tall works well for this project. Most building supply stores can cut the board to your exact specifications.

3
Draw a castle facade onto the board with a pencil. Make two tall columns on each side with a triangle on top to look like turrets. Make the middle part of the castle shorter than the turrets. Use a yard stick to draw straight lines.
-
4
Cut around the lines of the drawn castle with a hand saw. Smooth all of the edges with sandpaper when finished.
-
5
Paint the castle any colors of your choosing. A white background with pink or purple on the triangle turrets works well. Let dry.
-
6
Attach the castle to the wall behind the head of the bed using a hammer and nails. Push the bed in place in front of the castle, so the facade acts as the bed's headboard.
