How to Make Lavender Water for a Spray Bottle

Lavender emits a calming smell.

Make your own lavender-scented water to put in a spray bottle. You can use the water as an air freshener, spray clothes or spray skin. Lavender has a strong, floral scent. Like any type of scent, it can aggravate allergies, so use carefully. The essential oil can also discolor fabrics or surfaces, so test it on a small area before you spray. You can make as much of the spray as you want by adjusting the measurements to fit the container.

Things You'll Need

• 1 gallon distilled water
• 1 20-oz. spray bottle
• 1 bottle of lavender essential oil

Instructions

1. Fill the spray bottle 3/4 full with distilled water.

2. Add 10 drops of essential oil, screw on the lid and shake. Remove the lid and smell the water. If the scent isn't strong enough, add 5 more drops, screw the lid on and shake.

3. Shake the bottle before each use. Spray the air with the lavender water.
