How to Make Your Own Decorative Wrapping Paper
Wrapping presents is one of the best aspects of gift giving. It allows you to include something personal or special with the gift, marking the occasion. Gift-wrap does not need to be boring and there are several ways to make creative wrapping paper that is sure to leave a lasting impression. Many of these ideas are inexpensive and require many things you may already have at home.

Copy pieces of your child's artwork onto larger pieces of paper. Enlarge the size of the artwork, if desired. Copy multiple pieces of artwork for a collage effect.

Copy photos for a personal touch to wrapping paper. One option is to copy them directly onto larger pieces of paper at the copier. You can also cut individual pictures from paper and attach them to card stock. Use the "pictures" as ways to embellish gifts wrapped with plain white paper.

Use stamps. Stamps are a fun way to make your own gift-wrap. Stamps work well on craft paper or copy paper and there is no limit to what you can do.

Paint and draw. Use watercolors, paint or crayons on heavy paper to design your own wrapping paper. Draw on plain craft or butcher's paper to create your own design on craft paper. Trace cookie cutters to make festive shapes on paper.

Use holiday napkins for elegant fabric wrapping paper. Wrap napkin around gift and use several lengths of ribbon tied around gift to hold fabric in place. If necessary, use double-sided tape to secure ends of fabric.
