How to Read MPG Files
A file with the extension .mpg is a Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) file, which is a popular format for videos on the web. To open and view a .mpg file, you will need a video player on your computer. Do not play or download a .mpg file from an unknown or untrusted source.

Save the .mpg file to your desktop.

Launch your media player such as iTunes or Windows Media Player.

Click "File" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "Open." Browse for the .mpg file that you saved in Step 1. Click the "Open" button.

Click the "Play" button. On most players, it looks like a large arrow pointing to the right.
