Hip Hammock Instructions
One of the makers of the original Hip Hammock, Playtex, recalled the child carrier meant for babies and toddlers in 2005 after the shoulder strap started detaching from the carrier, placing children at risk of falling. Since the recall, Playtex and other carrier makers have started making Hip Hammocks with more stringent standards in place. Its natural carrying position places your child on your hip, snuggled against you, where you can provide additional support with your arm's nook.

1
Buckle and cinch the strap tight on the waist belt.
-
2
Straddle your child on one leg close to your waist. Slip each of the child's legs through the hip hammock's leg holes so the child is sitting in the carrier.
-
-
3
Place the shoulder belt under your arm, around your back and around the opposite shoulder.
-
4
Buckle the shoulder belt into the buckle clip on the carrier's side on the side open next to your child.
-
5
Move the child up into a comfortable position while cinching the shoulder belt tighter.
-
6
Fold the headrest down on the back of the carrier and place the child's arms over the carrier's top if the child is able to support its own head. If not, use the headrest and keep the child's arms inside the carrier to provide extra support.
