Clean stains from coffee pot with white vinegar.

Brown stains can start appearing inside of a Bunn coffee pot after just one use. These stains can become extremely difficult to clean if left untreated for a long period of time. Removing the stains from the coffee pot won't just make the coffee pot appear cleaner; your coffee should taste less bitter once you have fully cleaned the coffee pot. The cleaning process can also remove mineral deposits and coffee oils found inside the coffee maker. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the Bunn coffee pot.

    • 2

Fill the rest of the coffee pot with water.

    • 3

Pour the water into water reservoir of the Bunn coffee maker.

    • 4

Place the Bunn coffee pot onto the heating element in the coffee maker.

    • 5

Switch on the coffee maker and run through a brew cycle as you normally would. The hot water and vinegar solution will drain into the coffee pot. Turn off the coffee maker when the brew cycle is complete.

    • 6

Wait until the liquid inside the coffee pot cools, then scrub the inside of the coffee pot with a sponge or scrubber. Depending on the Bunn coffee pot you own, you may have to remove the pot's lid before you can scrub the pot. Most lids simply snap off or slide out of plastic slots on the top of the coffee pot.

    • 7

Empty the coffee pot. Fill the coffee pot with clean water.

    • 8

Pour the water into the coffee maker reservoir, place the coffee pot on the heating element, and run another brew cycle. Turn off the coffee maker and allow the water in the coffee pot to cool, then discard the water.

    • 9

Repeat the process from the beginning if stains persist in the Bunn coffee pot.
