Go to the website Ad Designer (see "References"). Register for a free account. Select the ad style that best fits your advertising needs. There are 91 styles to choose from. Click "Make Selection."

Choose the style, color and size of font you want to use. Type in your text. Make a selection from the drop-down menu under "Intended Uses for this Ad." The website will optimize your ad to fulfill the specific requirements necessary based on where you want to use the banner ad. Select "Create this Ad."

Your completed banner ad will be shown at the top of the page. To "save" it to your computer, right-click on the banner ad and select "save as." Save it in a folder on your computer. Select '"Email this Ad" to have your banner ad emailed to you.

Log onto the Internet and go to the website Quick Banner (see "References"). Scroll down to "GIF Banner Creator" and click "Browse Templates" to see all of the free banner options.

Click on the banner of your choice. Choose the style, color and size of font you want to use for the first text line. Type in your text.

Select "Download My Banner." You will be prompted to register for a free account. Fill out the registration form. Click "Get Activation Code" to have an access code emailed to you. Leave the registration window open so that you can enter the code.

Retrieve the code from your email. Type it into the code activation box. Click "continue". Right-click on the banner with your mouse and choose "Save as" to save it to your hard drive.
