      Buy postcards that are two to a sheet. Use these for mass mailings. Postcards come in two different sizes: 4 by 6 inches and 4¼ by 5½ inches.

      Open a postcard template in your word processor. Insert the business logo and contact information in the upper left corner of the postcard. Type the message using a 10- or 12-point font size.

      Create mass mailings or direct mail marketing with the word processor's mail merge program. Download address information from another software program or open a spreadsheet and enter the names and addresses. Add the mail merge fields to the postcard template. Merge the postcard template with the names and addresses.

      Print a test postcard on blank printer paper. Check the image size and alignment, wording and make any needed adjustments, then print again. When finished making the changes, print the postcards.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a software template to layout the graphics and add text. Your PC has a word processor program or greeting card software with built-in templates. Customizing a postcard with your computer takes less than five minutes.

  • Postcard templates work the same way as label templates.

  • Create postcards for the holidays with sales, coupons and bonus offers.

  • Buy more postcards than you need in case of a printing problem.
