DIY Wireless Speakers

DIY Wireless Speakers thumbnail
Connect wireless speakers to your stereo system.

Stereo system speakers that require wires to connect with the receiver creates a tangled mess with cords running all over your room. And a surround sound system creates an even greater mess with wires. However, if you want to eliminate the wired speakers from your stereo setup it is possible to hook up wireless speakers yourself, freeing up not only the location you set your receiver but the speakers also. With this setup you may use wireless speakers on a system that originally came with wired speakers.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the wireless transmitter into a local outlet near your stereo receiver. This device sends the wireless audio signal to the wireless speakers. Without the transmitter the speakers have no way of receiving the audio signal.

    • 2

Connect the wires running out of the transmitter into the connection ports typically used by the wired speakers.

    • 3

Position the wireless speakers where you want. However you do need to make sure the speakers are in view of the transmitter. This ensures that the speakers receive a clear signal from the transmitter and audio receiver.

    • 4

Insert the batteries into the speakers. The number of batteries and battery type will vary depending on the make and model of your speakers.

    • 5

Power on the receiver and transmitter. Audio will now begin to play through the wireless speakers.
