How to Remove a Remington Stock

Remington bolt-action rifles are popular with hunters around the globe. Known for their accuracy, Remington rifles are available in a variety of calibers and come standard with a high-gloss walnut stock. Some models of Remington rifles are equipped with a hinged magazine floor-plate. However, the procedure for removing the stock is the same for all Remington bolt-action rifles. The stock can be removed from the rifle with the aid of a flat head screwdriver. Before removing the stock of your Remington rifle, check and verify that the rifle is unloaded.

• Flat head screwdriver

Instructions

1. Engage the rifle's safety, which is located on the right side of the bolt handle, and open the bolt.

2. Press the bolt release button--located just in front and above the trigger--and slide the bolt out of the rifle.

3. Turn the rifle over and unscrew the two screws securing the trigger guard and the main screw located in front of the trigger guard.

4. Separate the stock from the rest of the gun.
