Click the "Lasso" tool on the "Tools" palette on the left side of the screen. Draw an outline around the part of the photo to use for the postcard or all of it, then press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys on your keyboard. Click the "Type" tool, which looks like a "T" on the "Tools" palette and select a font, color, size and position from the text toolbar at the top of the page. Click into the "MyPostcard" box and type a message, such as "Greetings from North Carolina!," "Wish You Were Here" or "Born November 6, 2010."

(Optional) Give the postcard an eye-catching background by clicking the "Paint Bucket" tool. Pull down the "Fill" menu at the top of the page, click "Pattern" and click inside the "Pattern" box. Choose a background design such as checkerboard or bubbles. Click in the white space of the "MyPostcard" box, which fills with the design behind your text and graphic.
