How to Make Homemade Foam Stamps Circles
If you are planning to decorate stationery, homemade cards, scrapbook pages or anything else with multiple circles, you may want to consider a stamp to save yourself from the tedious work of drawing multiple circles by hand. You do not need to purchase a special stamp, as rubber stamps can be expensive. Make your own circle stamp at home with craft foam.
Things You'll Need
- Scrap paper
- Drawing compass
- Scissors
- Permanent marker
- 1/8 inch thick sheet of craft foam
- Craft glue
- 1/2 inch thick sheet of craft foam
- Utility knife
- Ink pad
Instructions

1
Adjust a drawing compass so that the tip of the pencil and the metal point are half as far apart as you want your circle to be wide. For example, spread the pencil and point 1 inch apart if you want your circle to be 2 inches wide.
-
2
Place the point of the compass onto a sheet of scrap paper and draw a circle by spinning the pencil around, keeping the point in place.
-
-
3
Cut your circle out with scissors. This is your template for your foam stamp.
-
4
Lay your paper circle onto a sheet of 1/8 inch thick craft foam and trace around the edges of the circle with a permanent marker.
-
5
Cut the circle from the foam with scissors.
-
6
Cut a square out of your 1/2 inch thick craft foam with a utility knife to create a block to mount your circle on. The square does not need to be perfect but it needs to be larger than your circle.
-
7
Apply a thin layer of craft glue to the back of your foam circle and press it into the middle of the block. Allow the glue to dry.
-
8
Stamp a circle with your new stamp. To do this, press the stamp (circle side down) into an ink pad and then onto a sheet of paper. You should have a stamped image of a perfect circle.
