You can set up a wireless Internet connection simply even without a router.

1. Plug your wireless modem into the Internet source. This can be a DSL or broadband connection, a cable connection, or a satellite connection. Make sure that your modem is wireless.

2. Turn on your modem. If it is connected correctly, it will begin to broadcast your Internet connection.

3. Turn on your computer. Most computers today can search for wireless connections and connect to them automatically. Click on your "Available Network" button to see the available networks. Once you see yours, click on it to connect.

• If you haven't set up your connection yet, you will need to open a browser window and type in the address given to you by your Internet Service Provider.
