Download WeFi. WeFi is a free program available for both PC and Mac users that will search for and find connections in your area and automatically connect to the best one. After downloading WeFi, run the installation program and input location details to begin searching for a Wi-Fi hot spot.

Use the FON Maps website to find a Wi-Fi hot spot based on address. From the FON homepage, fill out the search form with an address and click the "Find" button to begin searching. To find free Wi-Fi spots, click on the buttons that say "Hide or show FON WiFi locations" and "Hide or show FON Partner WiFi locations."

Use the free JiWire Global Wi-Fi Finder. From the JiWire search page, select a continent from the map and then select a location from the area map. For a more specific search, enter a zip code in the search box located on the upper right-hand corner of the area map.
