1. Get your friend's bank name and account number. Go to your bank and initiate a wire transfer. Your bank might charge a fee for this service.

2. Write your friend's bank name and bank account number on the transfer form. Enter the amount of money you wish to transfer.

3. Get a receipt for the transaction. This will help you track the wire transfer if there is a problem. Tell your friend the money is ready to be picked up at her bank.

Western Union

1. Find the closest Western Union office. These money transfer services are located in most major cities and many small towns. In addition, Western Union offices are located in many train and bus stations, and even in some Wal-Mart stores.

2. Withdraw the money you wish to wire to your friend from your bank or ATM. You can use a credit card to pay Western Union's money transfer fees, but you will need actual cash for the transaction itself. Take that money to the Western Union office and complete a money transfer form. Be sure to use your friend's full legal name when completing the paperwork. The name on the transfer form must match the name on your friend's official ID.
