How to Make Melted Plastic Beads
Melted bead art is an activity that children can participate in, but even adults will enjoy the creative process. Bead melting is a way to make your own colored plastic works of art in your oven and it is inexpensive as well. Make some custom patterns with pony beads to create coasters or sun catchers to give as gifts or decorate your own home.

1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
-
2
Put pony beads into the bottom of your tart tins in a single layer. Stand them all up on end to achieve an even layer. Arrange them in a pattern or a shape surrounded by another color.

3
Place them in the oven for 10 minutes. If they are not fully melted after 10 minutes, place them back into the oven and check them every five minutes until they are melted together. Set the cookie sheet on a counter or table to cool.
-
4
Remove the melted bead circles from the tins and poke a hole through them near the edge if you are making a sun catcher. If you are making a coaster, you are already done.
-
5
Cut a 6-inch length pf fishing line with your scissors and thread it through the hole in the sun catcher. Knot it to hang.
