Remove the urine odor from your shower drain with baking soda and vinegar.

Urine smells can sometimes be an issue in the home when someone urinates in the shower and the urine rinses down the drain. While you may think the urine and odor will wash away, you often notice a lingering urine odor that makes the shower experience very unpleasant. To get rid of the urine odor in your shower drain, combine two inexpensive cleaning and deodorizing ingredients.

Step 1

Pour 1/4 cup baking soda down the drain.

Drizzle 1/2 cup of white vinegar down the drain, atop the baking soda. The two ingredients will foam, which is normal.

Step 3

Cover your drain, and let the foaming combination move down the drain for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Rinse the drain with a pot of boiling water, and repeat if any odor remains.
