How to Get Grease Smells Out of Dish Towels

Remove grease odor from your dish towels with ease.

Dish towels collect a number of odors when used in the kitchen, including grease smells. Even after you have washed your dish towels, upon future use of the towels you quickly notice a present grease smell. While the towels may be clean, the odor leaves you feeling as though the dish towels are dirty and should not be used. By adding a few extra elements to your wash cycle, you will remove the grease odor and keep the towels fresh.

Things You'll Need

• Washing machine
• Laundry detergent
• Baking soda
• Vinegar

Instructions

1. Place the dish towels in your washing machine, and turn the machine on using a short wash cycle and warm water temperature.

2. Pour 1 capful of your regular laundry detergent into the washer, with 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup white vinegar. Both are cleaning and deodorizing elements.

3. Let the machine run its wash cycle, and dry the towels as usual.
