How to Maintain a Whirlpool Tub
To keep your whirlpool tub running at its best, you must incorporate a regular maintenance routine that will not only clean the tub, but also flush and buildup out of the jet lines. To do this, you need to set aside a bit of time each month, or as needed, to clean the whirlpool tub to your liking, and spend a few minutes cleaning and flushing out the jets of the tub. Plug the tub, and pour 4 tbsp. dishwasher detergent and 1/2 cup chlorine bleach into the tub.

Fill up the tub with hot water from your water supply, and stop when all jet line openings are submerged with water.

Turn on your whirlpool jets, and let them run for 15 minutes.

Drain the tub, and refill with plain hot water.

Repeat the same 15-minute run of the whirlpool jets, and drain the tub again.

Dry the tub with a clean cloth to remove leftover moisture.
