Pom poms are fun to make and can be used to cheer on your favorite person or team. Using common household ingredients, these pom poms can be made up quickly just before you need them. Instructions

1
Pick out the colors you want for your team. If you have a dominant team color, you can always incorporate white or black in with that color.
-
2
Cut your trash bags in half and lay them on top of each other.

3
Cut the trash bags in strips, keeping them roughly the same size. Lots of thin strips will make your pom pom look fuller, while thicker strips will make it a little less full.
-
4
Separate the strips into two piles, one for each pom pom. Align the strips so that at least one end has all the strips evenly lined up.
-
5
Wrap a rubber band around the strips, about a hand's width up from the even side of the strips.
-
6
Push a Popsicle stick or tongue depressor through the rubber band, pushing it up enough so that it doesn't show. This just gives a little more sturdiness to the handle.
-
7
Wrap the colored electrical tape around the stick and strips, making sure to get all of the ends of the strip under the tape. This way, they will not get in your way when you are cheering, and will stay secure.
