Open your video conversion software.

Click "File," located at the top of the video conversion software window. Select the video file that you would like to convert in the file browser window. Click "Open" when you have made your selection. Alternatively, most video conversion programs allow you to drag and drop the video file that you would like to convert into the software window.

Set the video output format to "AVI" from within the conversion software window. This may be accomplished by either choosing "AVI" from the drop-down box or placing a check mark in the box beside "AVI."

Set the output folder by clicking the "Browse" button beside the output folder text box. Alternatively, you can set the output folder from the Preferences window, which can be found on the "Tools" or "File" menu, located at the top of the screen.

Click "Convert" to begin the conversion. Once the MOV file has been converted to an AVI, the newly created AVI file will be located in your specified output folder.
