Nintendo manufactured one of the first handheld video game consoles: the Gameboy. But then the Sony PSP came along and Nintendo had to come up with something new. What the company came up with was the DS (Dual Screen), a handheld video game unit that features two screens, a touch screen on the bottom of the unit and a regular screen on the top. If the touch screen on your DS is broken you can repair it yourself and you don't need to be a tech genius to do it.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any game cartridges from the port in your DS, turn it on and locate the "Settings" icon in the bottom middle of the touch screen. Touch it and the Settings menu will come up.

    • 2

Tap the yellow icon located on the right side of the Settings menu.

    • 3

Tap the red square on the touch screen and the screen will calibrate. Confirm the calibration when prompted to on-screen. If the screen calibration hasn't fixed the problem you're having with the touch screen, then proceed to step 4.

    • 4

Press down gently on the touch screen and a space will be created between the screen and the plastic frame that surrounds it.

    • 5

Work your way around the spaces between the screen and frame with the bristles on your toothbrush. Once finished, all the dust and dirt on the screen should be cleared and your touch screen should be as good as new.
