How to Make Crafts Using Bandannas
Bandannas are usually worn on your head, but they can also be used to make crafts. The pattern on the traditional bandanna adds a country-western look to the crafts you create, but you can also use bandannas in other patterns and colors. Even kids can get involved in some creative bandanna craft projects. Make a pillow out of bandannas without having to sew, or make a shredded bandanna hair tie.
Instructions
-
Bandanna Pillow
-
1
Unfold two bandannas and lay them on top of each other so the brightest sides face outward and the backs face each other.
-
2
Cut slits along the edges about 1/2 inch apart and 1 inch toward the center of the bandanna.
-
-
3
Knot all of the strips together along three of the bandanna's sides. To do this, grab the strips that lay directly on top of each other and knot them. You should have a pouch at this point with one open end.
-
4
Stuff cotton batting into the open end of the pouch until it is full and fluffy.
-
5
Knot the strips along the open edge to close the pillow.
Shredded Bandanna Hair Tie
-
6
Cut a bandanna in half with your scissors.
-
7
Cut each half into 1/4 inch strips so you have a pile of shredded bandanna strips.
-
8
Tie each strip around your rubber band, knotting them to keep them in place. The result is a fringe hair tie made up of strips of bandanna fabric.
