How to Clean Yellowed Billard Balls
Billiard balls are constantly being handled, hit and pushed around during use of a pool table. As the body oils, dirt, cigarette smoke and other soot builds on the billiard balls, you are left with a dingy yellowed set of balls that needs a proper cleaning. To get rid of the yellowed residue on the billiard balls, incorporate a regular cleaning routine that removes the buildup. Does this Spark an idea?

Cleaning in Your Dishwasher

Place the billiard balls in your dishwasher, spacing them apart throughout the dishwasher so they will all clean thoroughly.

Pour your regular dishwasher detergent into the machine as you normally would, and run a short wash cycle.

Remove the balls from the dishwasher and polish dry with a clean, soft cloth.

Apply a new coat of billiard ball wax if needed to restore shine. Follow the instructions on your brand of wax.
Cleaning in the Kitchen Sink

Pour 1 tbsp. dish soap and 1 gallon warm water into your sink.

Place the balls in the sink and remove one by one.

Rinse each ball with warm water and wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth.

Apply a layer of wax if needed, following the application instructions on the container of wax.
