Decorating Christmas Glitter Balls
Decorating Christmas glitter balls can be a wonderful project to do by yourself or with your family. It is an inexpensive way to decorate the Christmas tree in a streamlined design by using your own style. The project will take very little time to complete and can result in ornaments that look purchased.

Choose the ball ornaments. The size of the Christmas tree should be a factor when choosing the ornaments. The smaller the tree, the smaller the ornaments should be. If you choose a medium to large tree, you can still use ornaments of the smaller size, but you will need to use more of them.

Decide on the design. You can choose to make the Christmas glitter balls all one color or create a pattern; consider simple ones such as stripes, polka dots and swirls. Even someone who doesn't have a steady hand can create them.

Pick out the glitter. The ornaments don't have to be all one color; you can mix and match and create several different colored ornaments. If doing patterns, make the background one color and the pattern another.

Apply the glitter. If you are making solid color glitter balls, hold the ornament from the top, use a foam brush to apply glue to the entire surface and sprinkle glitter over the ornament. To create patterns, use a color-changing glue to help you create the designs. The glue will typically already come with a brush; it applies as a color but dries clear. Sprinkle the glitter over the glue. Apply the color-changing glue in between the designs and sprinkle the areas with a different glitter for the background.

Seal the glitter on the ornaments with spray glue. The glue will prevent the glitter from falling off and getting all over your home. Hang the ornaments where they can dry without being disturbed before putting them on the tree.

Tips & Warnings
To hang them to dry, put a broom across two chairs. Put the loop or hook of each ornament over the handle and let the ornaments dry in between the chairs where they can hang freely.
