Resetting the the HP Pavilion TX1308 is a task many people will never need to do, but will bring the computer's main settings back to factory specification. Many electronics have a "reset" button you can press to restore the original settings. Computer makers have yet to adopt this feature. Reset the Pavilion TX1308 by accessing the BIOS, which is known as the Setup Utility on HP computers. These settings are separate from your operating system and control the inner workings of the computer. Those experiencing Windows or software errors will most likely not benefit from the reset.

      Turn on the notebook PC and press "F10" when the HP startup screen displays. You may need to press it multiple times for the command to register. The BIOS will load.

      The factory reset does not affect language or security settings, including system passwords.
