The John Deere L100 lawnmower has a cutting width of 54 inches, and is designed to mow larger yards up to 1 1/2 acres. The L100 is also used for hauling and is compatible with a wide variety of attachments. The tires are mounted on the axles using a key stock. The key secures the axle to the rim and locks it into place.
Things You'll Need
- Axle grease
- Clean shop rags
- 4 dust caps
Clean and grease the axle of the John Deere tractor mower. Wipe the axle clean, clearing any debris with a clean shop rag. Grease the axle with a universal axle grease. Smear a small amount of axle grease on a clean shop rag and apply it to the axles. You can find axle grease can at your local auto parts store.
Slide the tire onto the axle, aligning the axle and the slot on the rim of the tire.
Insert the key into the key slot at the edge of the axle securing the tire. Repeat this process to install the other tires around the tractor mower.
Apply a dust cap to the tip of the axle on each wheel to protect the key stock.
