How to Install an HP 6310 All-in-One Printer & Driver
Your HP 6310 All-in-One contains a copier, printer, scanner and fax machine. These machines are beneficial for people who run a small office and need all of these devices. The HP All-in-One series of printers are more affordable than purchasing a separate machine for each function. You can quickly add your HP peripheral to the computer and install the device drivers to get you working without much installation effort.

Remove the packaging on the All-in-One. Ensure you remove the plastic taped to moving parts, such as the printer head and paper feeder.

Connect the telephone cable from the RJ-45 connector on the back of the printer and connect the other end to a telephone jack in your home or office. This is for the fax machine included with the All-in-One. Connect the power cord from the back of the printer to a power outlet. Press the power button on the top control panel to turn on your printer.

Open the top lid on the printer. Opening the top lid exposes the ink cartridge slots. Insert your black ink cartridge in the slot that is labeled with a black color icon. Insert the color cartridge into the slot labeled as color. Close the lid and wait for the control panel to say "Ready." The printer, fax and copier are ready to print.

Insert the driver CD into your computer. Note that you do not connect the USB cable to your computer until the drivers are installed. After you insert the CD, follow the prompts to install the driver files. After the drivers install, the installation wizard prompts you to connect the printer's USB cable to a USB outlet on your computer. The computer auto-detects the connected printer and sets up the connect to print. At the final screen on the installation wizard, click "Print a Test Page" to verify the connect and print to your printer from the computer.
