How to Make a Mini Diaper Cake
Diaper cakes are rolled diapers that are assembled to look like a cake. Besides diapers, they contain supplies that new mothers can use for their babies. Instead of making a traditional, three-tiered diaper cake, you can make a bunch of mini diaper cakes. Known as cupcakes, they're small enough to take to the hospital once the newborn arrives.
Things You'll Need
- 12 to 15 newborn diapers
- 4 oz. baby bottle
- Large rubber bands or ribbon
- Hot glue gun
- 8-inch round cardboard cake base
- Receiving blanket
- Diaper pins
- 1-inch-thick ribbon
- Pacifier
- Stuffed animal

1
Wrap an unopened newborn diaper tightly around the baby bottle. Align the edge of the diaper with the base of the bottle.
-
2
Open another diaper and wrap it tightly around the first one, keeping it even with the bottom edge of the bottle. Continue to wrap all of the diapers tightly around one another.
-
-
3
Secure all diapers in place with a large rubber band or piece of ribbon.
-
4
Apply hot glue to the bottom of the baby bottle. Center it on the round cardboard cake base.
-
5
Fold the receiving blanket in half so that it's the width of the diapers. Wrap the blanket around the diapers, and secure it in place with diaper pins.
-
6
Wrap the 1-inch-thick ribbon around the diaper cake. Thread a pacifier onto the ribbon and tie it into a bow.
-
7
Place a stuffed animal on top of the cake. Wrap a rubber band around the animal and the top of the baby bottle to hold it in place.
