How to Install HP 92 & HP 93 Printer Cartridges
The HP (Hewlett Packard) 92 and HP 93 ink cartridges fit many of the HP DeskJet, HP Officejet, HP Photosmart and HP PSC printers, as well as the HP Officejet 6310. The directions for installing the ink cartridges are the same on all of the models that use these cartridges, but the opening on the printer where you see the ink cartridge carriage may be in a different location.

Instructions

1
Turn the printer on. Allow the printer to cycle, which takes a few minutes.
-
2
Lift the cover on the printer to expose the ink cartridge carriage. On the HP 6310, the cover is on the left-hand side next to the flat glass scanner.
-
3
Lift up on the tabs that hold the ink cartridges in place, using your thumb and index finger. The tabs lift up and do not come off the carriage.
-
4
Remove the HP 92 black ink cartridge on the right side of the carriage. Place your thumb and index finger on each side of the cartridge, pull out and up. Remove the HP 93 color ink cartridge on the left-hand side the same way.
-
5
Hold the new HP 92 cartridge with your thumb and index finger on each side. Remove the green tape on the bottom of the cartridge that protects the copper contacts. Place the cartridge on the right side of the carriage. Push in as you are pushing down on the cartridge. Do the same for the HP 93 ink cartridge, but place it on the left-hand side.
-
6
Press down on the snap tabs to secure the ink cartridges in place. Close the cover.
