Fill a clean sock with 1 cup of salt. Tie the opening of the sock in a knot, to prevent the salt from spilling out.

Lay the sock over the stain. Apply pressure to the sock with your hand, to allow the salt in the sock to draw out the red wine from the leather.

Pour 2 cups of lukewarm water into a bowl. Dampen a clean, absorbent cloth in the water.

Blot the red stain with the damp cloth, until the stain is completely gone. Do not rub the stain, as abrasive movements can damage leather.

Step 5

Pat the damp area of the leather with a clean towel. Allow the leather to air-dry.
