MSN Messenger is a computer program designed by Microsoft that lets you chat with friends on the Internet. Everyone with an MSN Messenger account gets to create their own screen name, and you can find and chat with friends using text-based messages using those screen names. If you want to make sure that your copy of MSN Messenger is updated to the latest version, you'll need to use the MSN Messenger download page.

      Open your Web browser.

      Go to the MSN Messenger download site (see References).

      Click on the "Download" link to download the installation file for the latest version of MSN Messenger to your computer. The MSN Messenger download site only displays the download file for the latest version.

      Double-click on the installation file for the latest version of MSN Messenger.

      Click "Next." Follow the directions that are plainly written in the installer utility to install the latest version of MSN Messenger on your computer, which will update the version you already had installed.
