How to Change the Hard Drive in a Dell E1705
The Dell Inspiron E1705 is a multimedia laptop with a 17-inch screen and an Intel Core Solo, Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processor. The Inspiron E1705 has room for a single SATA hard drive, and when the E1705 was in production it could be configured with up to a 250 gigabyte drive. However, laptop hard drives today offer a great deal more capacity than 250 gigabytes. If you are running out of storage space on your Dell Inspiron E1705, you can double the storage capacity of your computer with a relatively small investment.

4
Remove the four Phillips-head screwdrivers holding the hard drive to the carriage. Push the hard drive out of the carriage and set it aside.
