How to Manually Restart a HP Pavilion Laptop
A manual restart of a computer, or hard restart (or reboot), is a way to restart your computer if it freezes completely. This may not be a permanent fix for your problem, though. After performing a manual restart of your Pavilion, try to find out what caused the problem in the first place. Maybe it was a temporary system error, or maybe it was a virus. You can never be too sure.

Press and hold the “Power” button above the keyboard on the open laptop.

Wait for the screen to turn off and the power light to turn off.

Release the “Power” button and wait for 10 seconds.

Press the “Power” button to turn the computer back on.

Press “Enter” when asked if you want to start the computer normally.
