Tutorial for Background Images in Dreamweaver MX
Dreamweaver MX, the web development program from Adobe, lets you develop your own web site without mucking around in complex code. Dreamweaver MX offers many different customization options for the aspiring web developer, like the option to use an image file for your page's background instead of a solid color. Even if you are unfamiliar with designing websites or with Dreamweaver MX, adding a background image is fairly simple.

Create a new page in Dreamweaver MX, or open an existing project.

Open the "Modify" drop-down menu at the top of the window and click "Page Properties." This will open the Page Properties window.

Click the "Browse" button next to the "Background Image" field to browse your files. Select an image from your computer, or enter the URL of the image in the "URL" field. Click "OK."

Click "OK" in the Page Properties window to apply the background image to your page.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure the background image you choose does not clash with your page's font color. For example, black text over a dark background image will be difficult to read.
