HP 1510 Printer Paper Jam Troubleshooting

If the paper jams in your HP 1510 laser printer, an error message will come up on your computer screen to warn you of the problem. You will need to remove any stuck pieces of paper, including small bits torn from full sheets, so the printer will function normally again. You can avoid paper jams by always adjusting the paper guides inside the feed trays to the size paper you are using.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any paper in both paper tray 1 and 2. If you see any stuck paper, pull it firmly out of the rollers.

    • 2

Pull paper tray 2 completely out of the machine. Press the two tabs on either side of where paper tray 2 was located, which will open a door inside the printer. Remove any stuck paper you see inside the printer.

    • 3

Push the tabs up to close the access door, then slide paper tray 2 back into its slot. Turn the machine around and pull down on the tab located at the top of the printer's rear door.

    • 4

Pull out any stuck paper you see inside the machine, making sure to remove even small pieces of paper. Close the printer's rear door, making sure it latches closed.

    • 5

Pull any stuck pieces of paper from the printer's output slot by pulling them firmly from the output rollers.

    • 6

Reset the printer if the paper jam error still appears. Turn the printer off for 30 seconds, then turn the printer back on.
