How to Improve Image Resolutions

How to Improve Image Resolutions thumbnail
Photo editing software can be used to sharpen and add focus to an image.

There is more to making a picture look good than just using a superbly manufactured camera. For example, after the snapshot is taken, editing software can be used to sharpen the photo and add focus to make it more recognizable. And if the picture is sharp enough as is, the finishing touches could be realized by adding contrast and color intensity. The only guarantee in image editing is that you won't know which features will enhance an image resolution, unless you try them out.

Instructions

    • 1

      Run Windows Live Photo Gallery.

    • 2

Open the image you would like to improve.

    • 3

Click "Fix" and then click "Auto adjust." A slight contrast and brightness modification will be made to the photo. Elements in the forefront are given top priority and will show more detailed crispness.

    • 4

      Click "Adjust exposure."

    • 5

Adjust the "Brightness," "Contrast," "Shadows" and "Highlights" exposure settings. To increase an amount, move the slider to the right; to decrease it, move the slider to the left.

    • 6

Click "Adjust detail" and move the slider to sharpen the photo.

    • 7

Click " Adjust color" and then adjust the "Color temperature," to increase or decrease the warmth or coolness; change the "Tint," to even out the dominant hues or make them more prominent; and finally, alter the "Saturation," to change the amount of color in the photo. Move the sliders to the right to increase a color effect or to the left to decrease it.

    • 8

Click "File" and "Make a Copy" or "Revert to original" (note: your changes will be automatically saved)
