How to Install Ink Cartridges In a Canon MP210 Printer

The Canon MP210 printer is a relatively inexpensive printer that can produce high-resolution color prints. The printer also acts as a 600 dpi scanner and copier. Installing the printer is a simple process, but getting the ink cartridges into the printer can be confusing at first, since the cartridges must slide into place. Remember to always use Canon ink, as the ink and the cartridge are designed for use in the MP210 model.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the black ink cartridge from its box and peel off the red tape that covers the nozzle on the bottom of the cartridge.

    • 2

Position the cartridge so that the label is facing up and the electrical contacts are pointed away from you.

    • 3

Raise the front cover of the printer and bring down the support leg on the left side of the cover to hold the cover open. Place the cartridge in the slot labeled "B." The slot is on the left side and directly beneath the letter "B" in a circle. The slot is slightly slanted.

    • 4

Press on the black cartridge until you hear and feel it click into place. The cartridge will slightly straighten out when it is secure.

    • 5

Repeat the process with the color cartridge, but use the slot right next to the black cartridge labeled "C."

    • 6

Pull up on the Canon printer cover and push the support leg back into place. Gently close the cover. Wait about two minutes before trying to use the printer. When the green light on the control panel stops flashing, the printer is ready for use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not touch the electrical contacts or the print head nozzles on the front of the cartridge.

  • Once you remove the protective tape, do not attempt to reattach it.
