How to Become a Sony Reseller

Sony resellers sell a variety of Sony merchandise.

Sony only allows certain businesses to sell its line of consumer electronics. If you want to sell Sony cameras, computers, cell phones, televisions or other devices, you first have to become a Sony authorized reseller. Becoming a Sony authorized reseller requires you or your business to meet Sony's criteria. The road to becoming an authorized Sony reseller starts with an application found on Sony's website.

Instructions

1. Go to the Sony reseller application website (see Resources) and click the button marked "Apply Now."

2. Fill out the application. You will have to provide Sony with information about the officers of your company, how long your company has been in service and the kind of facilities your company has. You also will need to be prepared to tell Sony why it would benefit by adding you as a reseller. Sony will review your application and determine if it thinks your business would be a good fit as a Sony reseller.

3. Prepare for a site inspection. If Sony is considering making you an authorized reseller, it will send a representative to your business to inspect where the electronics would be stored and sold.

4. Wait to hear from Sony on its decision. Sony consults with its fulfillment partners in making the decision. Sony will notify you if your application to become a reseller has been approved.
