Waxing is a form of hair removal that lasts longer than shaving. The ordinary wax hair removal technique involves melting the wax in pots and them placing it onto the skin. A newer form of waxing places the wax inside a cartridge that you heat and then simply roll onto the skin. These roll-on versions of waxes do not create as much mess and there are no extra bowls to clean up afterward.

Things You'll Need

  • Microwave
  • Fabric waxing strips

Heat up the roll-on wax cartridge following the manufacturer's instructions. Some cartridges go into an electronic warming device that plugs into an electrical outlet. Other roll on wax cartridges can go into the microwave or a bowl of hot water to heat up.

Remove the wax cartridge from the warming device, hot water or microwave. Position it so that the roller is face down toward the part of the body you are removing hair from.

Roll the wax cartridge over the body in a single swipe, squeezing gently as you do so to dispense a thin layer of wax onto the skin.

Set the wax cartridge aside and place a fabric cloth, provided with the wax, onto the thin layer of wax.

Allow the fabric to remain in place until the wax cools slightly, which can take between 30 and 60 seconds.

Grasp one corner of the fabric strip and pull it off in a rapid motion to remove the wax and the hair from the body.

Tips & Warnings

  • The hair must be at least 1/4 inch long for roll-on wax to remove it.
